University of Alabama Adapted Athletics
-
Founded in 2003 with the creation of the women’s wheelchair basketball team, the University of Alabama Adapted Program now includes men’s wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, and para track and field. Over the last 20 years, the Adapted Athletics program has earned 21 national championship titles, graduated 64 student athletes, and had several student athletes represent their counties on the international level.

Wheelchair basketball games are played at the Stran-Hardin area which broke ground in 2018, making it the first of its kind on a college campus in the United States.

In October 2021, the Parker-Haun Tennis Facility was added to accommodate the wheelchair tennis and now houses the para track and field program as well.
